Yarok has got to be one of the most talked about brands by green bloggers over the past couple of weeks. Since getting the Yarok Feed Your Youth Hair & Scalp Serum in abeautifulworld’s Summer Sampler Box back in June I’ve been using it once a week ever since. Half the bottle later I think it’s about time to share my thoughts on this fabulous product!
The range of Yarok hair products hail from New York, mixed by hand in Manhattan. Their haircare range is vegan and natural, containing organic ingredients and only natural botanicals. You can rest assured you won’t find alcohol, sulphates or parabens in Yarok’s products – yay for no chemical nasties! Another great thing about Yarok is that they donate 3% of their annual profits to The Pachamama Alliance who help preserve a whopping 10 million acres of rainforest in partnership with the indigenous people of the Amazon! I really love Yarok’s slogan too: “Food for your Head. Good for the Earth.“
As I’m sure you can gather from the name, this particular product is an oil/serum for your hair and scalp. The amazing blend of Pure Avocado, Apricot Kernel, Ylang Ylang, Yarrow, Orange Blossom and Bitter Orange oils deeply moisturise dry hair whilst also helping to remove any product build-up. It’s particularly good as it doesn’t leave your hair feeling at all greasy like other hair serums can do.
I’ve been using this once per week for two months now and still have half the bottle left, so in my opinion the £22.00 per bottle is well worth it as it will last me around 4 months. Obviously if you have short hair you won’t be using as much as me so I think it would probably last up to 6 months! My dry hair and scalp are in much better condition since using this serum mid-week alongside a coconut mask at the weekends. Honestly I couldn’t recommend this serum more, particularly if you have dry or chemically treated hair.
I’m totally eyeing up the rest of Yarok’s haircare range now, especially the shampoo and conditioner so I’m sure it won’t be long before I cave in and buy them (and everything else!!) too! In the UK, Yarok is available exclusively at one of my favourite online shops abeautifulworld (if you haven’t checked them out yet where have you been?!)
Have you tried any Yarok products yet? I’d love to hear what you think of them!
