Tam Mason scrubs are carefully handmade in small batches and packaged in Somerset, UK. The scrubs are made with a blend of natural ingredients to nourish, condition and protect the skin. We’re talking organic sugar, organic sweet almond oil, vitamin E and a blend of essential oils to create the loveliest sensory experience.
These products do contain a tiny amount of phenoxyethanol as a preservative – this is an ingredient I generally prefer to avoid, but I am personally ok with using the occasional wash-off product as I can appreciate the need for preservatives as a safety measure in itself to protect against bacteria. It’s also worth noting the scrubs aren’t suitable for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to the quantity of essential oils.

The first thing to notice when you receive a delivery from Tam Mason is just how beautifully the package is presented! The bright, colourful, botanical branding is instantly inviting and uplifting. The brand values a plastic-free approach when it comes to packaging too which is something I really appreciate. The scrubs are packaged in a luxe reusable blue box made from recycled eco-fibre with the mini scrubs in glass jars with aluminium lids, and the full size scrubs in reusable/recyclable aluminium tins. There’s also a little wooden spoon enclosed to scoop out the product – it’s all about those extra little thoughtful details!

I chose to sample the scents Bergamot & Blood Orange, Frankincense & Ylang Ylang, Mint & Cedarwood and Lavender. Some of the other scents available at the time of writing include Rose & Patchouli, Grapefruit & Ginger, Sandalwood & Green Mandarin, Black Pepper & Verbena, Roman Chamomile and Unscented – there really is a scent to suit everyone.
My personal favourite scent of the bunch is the refreshing and uplifting Bergamot & Blood Orange – it’s a lovely scent to start off your day! The Lavender scent is ideal for relaxing in the evening and the Frankincense & Ylang Ylang is super soothing and relaxing too with it’s warmer aroma. The Mint & Cedarwood blend is your best friend to keep in the kitchen to cleanse your hands of any strong scent residue after preparing foods like onion and garlic!
To use the hand scrubs, you simply scoop out the product, rub over your hands, rinse with warm water and then pat dry. The results are instant with noticeably softer and smoother skin. I love that there’s no need to use separate moisturiser afterwards as the the scrub has such a nourishing, non-greasy effect after rinsing away.
