Green People are one of those reliable organic brands I’m always repurchasing. I already regularly use their haircare products, children’s suncream, Purifying Face Mask (reviewed here) and I’ve also enjoyed using their mascara and eyeliner before! They’re just a really great British brand with all-round high standards you can trust when it comes to ingredients, ethics and sustainability too.
One of Green People’s newer collections is their Nordic Roots skincare range, which includes a face wash, serum, moisturiser and facial oil. This Scandinavian inspired capsule collection is based on simplicity and Nordic plant actives. I’ve been testing out the Green People Nordic Roots Marine Facial Oil* for a good month or so now and it’s been a welcome addition to my daily skincare routine!
Nordic Roots Marine Facial Oil
This facial oil is Certified COSMOS Organic by Ecocert with 96.7% organic ingredients. It’s formulated with Atlantic Seaweed extract to promote collagen production and also contains Oat kernel oil for nourishment, and Hop flowers to help control pigmentation, promoting a more even skin tone. There’s Olive derived Squalane and Vitamin E too, which hydrates and helps restore skin elasticity.
One of the main things I love about this facial oil is that it’s completely unscented! The lack of essential oils makes this product ideal for sensitive skin – it hasn’t irritated my skin at all. I love the simplicity of the packaging design too which really brings the Nordic vibes! The bottle itself is recyclable glass and the outer carton packaging is made with 25% grass, so in terms of sustainability it’s compostable, biodegradable and recyclable too.
I’ve been using this facial oil both in the morning and evening. You only need to use a couple of drops warmed in the palms and gently press onto the face. I would definitely describe this as a light facial oil as it sinks in quickly without any greasy residue. This makes it great for daytime use as you can apply makeup straight afterwards no problem, unlike with some heavier facial oils.
As for the results, my skin has been perfectly content, smooth and hydrated since incorporating this oil into my daily routine! I can’t say much for the effects on hyperpigmentation as I already have a pretty even skin tone, but my skin does feel a little firmer thanks to the collagen boost. I can imagine more mature skin would particularly benefit well from using this facial oil!
Overall, I would recommend this product for anyone looking for a lightweight facial oil to hydrate and help improve skin tone and texture. If you have sensitive skin, this could be a great option as it’s unscented too. A little goes a long way with this product as well – I still have about 2/3 of the bottle left with 2x daily use over the past month, so it’s great value considering the organic ingredients!
