RMS Beauty is easily one of the most well-known clean beauty makeup brands. Founded by makeup artist Rose-Marie Swift, all of their cosmetic products are made with a selection of high quality natural and organic ingredients. RMS Beauty was actually one of the first makeup brands I tried out way back when I first started switching to organic products many years ago!
I picked up this RMS Beauty Eye Polish in the shade “Lucky” in a Naturisimo Discovery Box. This one is a copper colour shade with a peach undertone – I think it’s one of those universally flattering shades! There are also lots of other neutral shades to choose from in the range too. The Eye Polish is essentially a cream eyeshadow with a light-reflective finish, designed to be nourishing to the delicate eyelid skin.
The ingredients are super simple, with coconut oil, beeswax, jojoba oil, cocoa butter, rosemary extract and mineral pigments. These are the same base ingredients in several of their other cream products too, like the “Un” Cover-Up Concealer. Side-note… the concealer was actually too heavy for around my eyes and caused milia with daily use for me, but I’m not worried about this with the Eye Polish as I only wear it occasionally!
I know it doesn’t look quite so creamy in my photos, but that’s the solidifying effect the cold UK winter weather has on the natural oils! It melts easily with a little warmth which makes it so easy to apply with just your fingers.
The colour starts off subtle and can be gently built up for more pigment. This is perfect for someone like me who doesn’t have much skill when it comes to eyeshadow application! It has a really flattering, subtle and unique glowy finish. It’s almost impossible for it look bad as it’s so easily blendable with the heat from your finger and just melts into the skin.
RMS Beauty Eye Polish Swatches
You might be wondering about longevity and creasing as it’s a cream eyeshadow. For me personally, it only creases a little in the winter and starts to wear off subtly after a few hours. If you have oily lids, you can undoubtedly expect some creasing – the product itself is made with a blend of natural oils after all! I think it’ll probably crease more in warmer months too, but I don’t mind blending it occasionally as it’s so easy with a quick dab of a finger. I haven’t tried it with a primer either so that could help too!
Pros:
- Easy to apply (no MUA skills needed!)
- High quality organic ingredients
- Easily blendable
- Light-reflective finish – great if you’re a glow-getter!
- Removes well with cleanser
- Sleek minimal glass jar packaging
- Hydrating for dry lids
Cons:
- It will almost certainly crease (but it’s so easy to blend it’s almost not a negative)!
- Light-reflective finish – not so great if you prefer a matte effect
- May be too oily for some skin types
- Not suitable for vegans
- Luxe price point at £24/$28
