Whenever a new line of natural beauty products comes onto the scene, I’m always instantly intrigued! Mallow + White have recently launched a capsule range of skincare products, consisting of facial oils and masks for various skin types; Restore for normal/dry skin, Revitalise for mature skin and Soothe for sensitive skin. The main appeal of Mallow + White in my opinion is their pure and simplistic approach! Each product is hand-blended in Hertfordshire with a total of just 6 or less natural and organic ingredients, selected based on their specific properties to target each skin type. I can’t help but admire the dedication behind artisan brands to create products by hand!
Since my skin can sometimes be temperamental when introducing new products, I decided the Soothe range of products would be safest to try as they have been created with sensitive skin in mind. The Soothe Facial Oil* is made with a blend of apricot kernel, jojoba, kukui, lavender and Roman chamomile oils, which are known for their soothing and anti-inflammatory benefits. This oil blend absorbs into the skin almost instantly, which I find is ideal for daytime use for a smooth base underneath makeup. Unfortunately, this product isn’t quite right for me to use regularly at the moment as my skin is now craving heavier oils with the shift to colder weather, but I think those who are in need of lighter oils might enjoy using this blend!
The Soothe Face Mask*, on the other hand, has been a very welcome new addition to my skincare routine! Consisting of simply cornstarch, white kaolin clay, marshmallow root powder and lavender essential oil, this mask aims to soothe irritated skin and reduce redness. It comes in a powder form, so before applying to the skin you need to mix a small amount of the powder with water to make a paste. I like to leave this mask on my skin for only a couple of minutes, rinsing off as it just about starts to dry a little (tip: try not to let a clay mask completely dry on the skin as it can cause dehydration and irritation)! If my skin is feeling particularly sensitive, I’ll mix in a few drops of the facial oil to the paste before applying to give a hydration boost. I especially love using this whenever I’m experiencing redness – the end result is soothed, nourished and perfectly clean skin!
If you love minimalism and simplicity, this is definitely a brand worth checking out! Mallow + White aim to minimise waste with no excess packaging, using recycled/recyclable materials and it’s also lovely to hear they donate 10% of profits to Kiva, a charity empowering people through lending to alleviate poverty.
