Mascara is one of those makeup products that I never quite manage to find a favourite. I’m always switching between different natural mascaras and trying a new one every time they run out! My latest pick that I’ve been using recently is the Lily Lolo Big Lash Mascara. I’ve enjoyed using their original Natural Mascara before so was intrigued to see how the “big lash” version lived up to it’s name.
Lily Lolo are one of my favourite mineral makeup brands for high performance. I think they might have even been my first natural makeup purchase all those years ago! They specialise in 100% natural mineral cosmetics, are certified cruelty-free and I love that they’re British too. You can check out some of my other Lily Lolo reviews here.
One of the main differences between the original and “big lash” mascara is the shape and size of the applicator wand. The brush on the Big Lash Mascara is much bigger and has an hourglass shape which really helps to give that extra bold effect to the lashes.
Some say they find the brush too big, but I personally have no problems with it – I think it depends on the size and shape of your eyes! The wand is actually quite comparable to some mainstream mascara brands so it could be an ideal first switch for anyone looking to replace their mascara with a cleaner, natural alternative!
One coat gives your lashes a more natural-looking lengthened and defined look for daytime, but layer on an 2-3 coats and you’ll be left with those big dramatic voluminous lashes that the name promises! It’s always great to find a mascara that’s buildable without leaving any clumps.
The Big Lash mascara is definitely a step up from the original version in terms of the bold lash effect and I would absolutely recommend checking this one out if you’re after a great natural and vegan mascara that gives you bold, dramatic lashes! I’ve never had any issues with smudging or flaking either, even with multiple layers, and it doesn’t irritate my sensitive eyes at all. It’s long-lasting but I always find it easy to remove at the end of the day too which is always a win!
Overall, it gets a thumbs up from me, plus it’s one of the more affordable natural mascaras too at £13.50. You can find their products directly at Lily Lolo or through some of my favourite online natural beauty stores like Content Beauty or Naturisimo.
