The past few weeks I’ve been venturing into the world of eyebrow definition. It’s not something I’ve ever paid any attention to before as I have relatively full brows anyway and don’t like to have too many steps in my makeup routine, but then the new Neve Cosmetics Manga Brows* showed up on my doorstep and dove straight into my makeup bag!
Manga Brows is a double-ended eyebrow definer pencil from the Italian brand Neve Cosmetics. Being a newbie to the whole eyebrow thing, I thought it’s pretty great to have 2 different shades in one pencil! You’re supposed to draw the outline of the brow shape with the lighter shade and then use the darker colour to give definition. There are 3 different shade combinations available in the range, all with fun bright packaging and a little spoolie brush on the end. I have the lightest duo from the range which is Ash Blonde/Cold Brown – the other choices are Warm Blonde/Soft Brown and Rich Brown/Black Brown.
The difference between the shades in this particular duo is relatively subtle, with the Cold Brown shade only slightly darker than the Ash Blonde. I can get away with lightly using either one, although they’re still the tiniest bit too warm-toned for my super ashy brows!
In terms of application, I find the pencil can be a little too firm at first, but I think that’s mostly down to colder weather as it’s always easier to use on a warmer day! Once applied, it stays in place all day without fading at all. The only thing is I need to sharpen it every time I use it, so it’s going down pretty quickly! Even so I think it will probably last a couple of months with regular use which seems pretty decent considering it’s priced at £6.99.
I’m not sure if I would buy this again just because I’d prefer an even cooler toned shade to match my brows perfectly, but I’m really impressed with this brow pencil overall. I love the idea of having two shades in one pencil and the little spoolie brush is a great addition too!
