Whenever you see a review of a Bodhi product, particularly in the green beauty community, you’re pretty much guaranteed that it’s going to be a glowing tribute to the brand. Of course this one is no exception! I’ve reviewed the Jasmine Falls products before (here) and just knew I wanted to try more from the brand in future.
Bodhi’s lovely founder Elijah Choo kindly sent me one of his favourite products to try out a while ago – the Rosemary Chi Himalayan Detox Salt Scrub*, a detoxifying body scrub to exfoliate, enhance circulation/lymphatic flow and re-balance the senses. The scrub uses Himalayan Salt Crystals to detoxify and buff the skin, combined with a reviving blend of essential oils and nourishing grape seed oil, olive squalane, shea butter and apricot kernel oil.
To use, you just need to gently massage into damp skin in circular motions before rinsing off with warm water. You definitely want to be careful if you’re doing this in the shower as I’ve found the surfaces can get a little slippery from the oils. Bodhi suggest getting into a warm bath after scrubbing to dissolve the salts and create a relaxing bath soak, although I haven’t tried this myself yet. I find this body scrub isn’t quite as gentle as some of the others I’ve tried, but in terms of performance and thorough exfoliation, Bodhi’s scrub wins hands down. Every time I’m left with baby soft and hydrated skin – no need to moisturise afterwards!
It also stands out from other scrubs as it can easily be classed as an aromatherapy product too. It leaves me smelling like I’ve just spent the day at a spa – well, from what I can imagine a spa would smell like considering I’ve never actually been to one myself! To be totally honest I’m not quite so crazy about the scent as a lot of other bloggers seem to be as it’s a little stronger, spicier and woodier (?!) than I would prefer, but I find it certainly helps to clear your mind! It’s the carefully selected combination of rosemary, geranium, petitgrain and cedarwood essential oils used in this scrub that give it the unique scent and seem to enhance the whole process.
If you love a bit of luxury, from the sleek biophotonic glass jar to the high quality ingredients, this scrub is truly perfect for creating a pampering aromatherapy experience in the comfort of your own home. Bodhi’s Rosemary Chi Himalayan Detox Salt Scrub is priced at £35.00 for 250g, available direct from Bodhi and from BeautyBay.
