2016 Beauty Bucket List

Makeup, skincare · January 11, 2016 ·

2016-beauty-bucket-list-naturia-beauty-6515879

Each new year, instead of making resolutions, I like to put together a bucket list of things I’d like to experience – this is just a snippet of the beauty section of my 2016 bucket list! I didn’t quite manage everything on last year’s list, but I did try half of the brands I mentioned (including Pai Skincare, CV Skinlabs, Suki Skincare, Therapi Honey Skincare and Scotch Naturals) and I made quite a few new DIY products too! My list this year crosses over a little from the last and includes a few more brands I’ve been meaning to try along with a couple of beauty-related tasks to complete!

BRANDS TO TRY:

  • Andalou Naturals
  • Gressa Skin
  • Kjaer Weis
  • Kypris
  • Odacite
  • Gaia Creams
  • A.S Apothecary
VISIT GREEN BEAUTY STORES IN LONDON
Visiting Content Beauty was on last year’s list, but since I don’t live close to London and had limited transport it just didn’t happen! I’ve got two definite trips to London already planned this year though so I will finally be visiting Content and, of course, there will be an obligatory trip to Whole Foods too! I also plan to browse the NEOM store and scout out the smaller selection of green beauty at Liberty and Selfridges – I’ve never been to either before so that will be an experience in itself!

CONTINUE TO MINIMISE MY BEAUTY STASH

Last year I felt like I became a more conscious consumer as I gradually began downsizing my beauty stash. I think it’s important to think not only of the natural/organic ingredients but also consider the environmental effects of excessive consumerism and the impact of marketing too. It’s something I’ve always been a bit conflicted about, but I only recommended products that I’ve exclusively trialled for a good few weeks and actually enjoyed using, so, although this results in fewer blog posts from me, I hope you guys can appreciate I only want to give my most accurate opinions! I still have more skincare products than I need, so the aim is to reduce my collection even more this year!

TEST AND DECIDE ON WEDDING MAKEUP

Although I’ve been engaged to my other half for almost 3 years, we’re only just starting to make plans for our 2017 wedding! Of course I want to stick to all green/natural makeup products, but longevity can sometimes be an issue, so I’ll be trying out samples throughout this year to find products that last well and are easy to reapply without looking cakey or overdone. Inika are my current favourite makeup brand but I would love to hear what your favourite makeup products are and if you have any suggestions you think I might like!

What’s on your beauty bucket list for 2016?

One last makeup fave to end 2021! 100% PURE Fruit One last makeup fave to end 2021! 100% PURE Fruit Pigmented Ultra Lengthening Mascara 🌿

My favourite new encounter this year has been with one of the most well-known mascaras in clean and natural beauty from @100percentpure

I have no idea why I took me so long to try this one, it’s now firmly in my top 5 for natural mascaras!

If you’re after extra length for your lashes, this mascara absolutely delivers. It also smells like berries, lasts all day and holds a curl too 🙌

Head over to the blog at naturiabeauty.com for my full review and swatches (link in profile)

Of course we couldn’t go without mentioning my all-time fave makeup brand @inikaorganic 😍 I’ve used and loved their products for years now and lost count of the number of repurchases of the mineral foundation in particular! Pictured here are the lipstick, lipstick crayon and mineral blush puff pot.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There’s also my total HG product @hyntbeauty DUET Perfecting Concealer 🙌 If you need a full coverage, naturally-formulated concealer and haven’t tried this one yet… well let’s just say you need to put it to the top of your wish list for 2022! This is going to be a magic essential for when the newborn sleep deprivation kicks in over the next few weeks 😴

I briefly mentioned this one the other day, but it deserves it’s own post as one of my favourites this year!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Dry shampoo is a life-saver on those days where your hair is starting to look a little greasy, but you don’t have the time for washing it. Let’s be honest, I’m going to have even less time for that dreaded hair-wash day come January with a newborn 🙈
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve tried a fair few naturally formulated dry shampoos over the years and @captainblankenship Mermaid Dry Shampoo is one of the best! I really love the uplifting scent of rose geranium and palmarosa that lingers throughout the day too.

A favourite this year for an evening cleanse with A favourite this year for an evening cleanse with @nealsyardremedies Frankincense Intense Cleansing Melt

It’s one of those more unique products as it changes through 3 different textures so it’s ideal to highlight for #texturetuesday too!
⁣
It starts off as a gel which then melts into oil on the skin. Then when you add warm water it emulsifies into a creamy milk consistency (swipe to see)!
⁣
It’s the loveliest luxurious and relaxing product to use as it smells amazing and leaves the skin super soft too 😊️

I’m sure I’ve mentioned before how mascara is one of my favourite types of makeup product! @100percentpure Fruit Pigmented Ultra Lengthening Mascara is easily in my top 5 “clean” mascaras!

This is the one to choose if you’re after longer lashes. It holds a curl, lasts allll day without flaking or smudging, plus it smells like berries too! What’s not to love 😍
