Every time I finish off a mascara, I can’t help but try something new next time! Mascara is easily one of my favourite makeup products as it really opens up the eyes and just helps you feel more put together. My latest experiment is with one of the most well-known mascaras in clean and natural beauty – 100% PURE Fruit Pigmented Mascara. I can’t believe it’s taken me so many years to give this one a try to be honest!
100% PURE says it all with their brand name. They’re all about pure, natural, high quality ingredients. Instead of FD&C colorants and heavy metal dyes that are commonly used in cosmetics, their makeup products use natural pigments from fruits, vegetables, tea and cocoa. They also have a range of skincare products too.
100% PURE Fruit Pigmented Ultra Lengthening Mascara – Black Tea
This particular mascara comes with the promise of ultra lengthened lashes and it absolutely delivers on that front! The thin, hourglass wand makes it super easy to reach all the lashes and coat them in the natural pigments from black tea, berries and cocoa. It does a great job at separating lashes without clumping or flaking too.
On the first coat, you’ll mainly notice the added pigment to the lashes if you have fair eyelashes like me. If you prefer more natural lashes, you can finish the look here. The subsequent coats are when you really see the lengthening magic happen though! I like to go for 3 coats for the best pigment and length.
This mascara actually curls my lashes really well during application, but if you have particularly stubborn lashes, a quick curl before applying gives even more length. It also smells just like berries, which is a welcome change from the usual scent of mascaras!
It lasts really well throughout the day without irritating my sensitive eyes and without smudging as it’s water resistant. When it comes to removing in the evening, a little oil-based cleanser removes it all effortlessly.
Overall, this mascara is one of the best natural lengthening mascara I’ve tried! It also has some of the cleanest ingredients you’ll find too. My one and only con as a glasses-wearer is the ultra length makes my lashes hit the glass! As far as disadvantages of a product go, I think that’s quite a funny one! If you wear glasses too, contacts might be a good idea for the days when you’re using this mascara!
